I love this song
The snow was falling Christmas Eve
Stole behind her in the frozen foods
and I touched her on the sleeve
She didn't recognize the face at first
but then her eyes flew open wide
Tried to hug me and she spilled her purse
and we laughed until we cried
Took her groceries to the checkout stand
The food was totaled up and bagged
stood there lost in our embarrassment
as the conversation dragged
Went to have ourselves a drink or two
but couldn't find an open bar
Bought a six-pack at the liquor store
and we drank it in her car
We drank a toast to innocence, we drank a toast to now
Tried to reach beyond the emptiness but neither one knew how
She said she'd married her an architect
Kept her warm and safe and dry
She said she'd like to say she loved the man
but she didn't want to lie
I said the years had been a friend to her
and that her eyes were still as blue
But in those eyes I wasn't sure if I saw doubt or gratitude
She said she saw me in the record store
and that I must be doing well
I said the audience was heavenly
but the traveling was hell
We drank a toast to innocence we drank a toast to time
We're living in our eloquence, another old lang syne
The beers were empty and our tongues grew tired
and running out of things to say
She gave a kiss to me as I got out
and I watched her drive away
Just for a moment I was back in school
And felt that old familiar pain
And as I turned to make my way back home
the snow turned into rain

We have entered into
Anyway, Carson said, "Mommy, can we please teach her another word besides no." haha. Greta Rebecca says about 15 words already. My girl is growing up way too fast.
This weekend was very busy for Carson. Friday night was his Christmas concert for school which was cute. His class sang two songs in sign language which was beautiful. He did a great job. On Saturday night, he was involved with a live nativity event at his school. Greta Rebecca and Jonathan enjoyed the event as well. I was busy inside the school serving cookies and hot chocolate.
As I sit at the computer and write about Carson and Greta Rebecca my heart is heavy for the parents in Connecticut. I can not wrap my mind around what happened at Sandy Hook School. The only thing I can do is pray for eveyone involved. But I will admit I am nervous about dropping Carson off at school tomorrow. I already call the school once or twice a day now to see how he is doing ( Yes I am one of those parents). I will do whatever it takes to make me feel comfortable and safe with him being at school. Carson and I had a heart to heart today about the incident that occurred in Connecticut. I did not go into a lot of detail however I explained to him that he had to listen carefully if the teachers tell him to hide, duck, or run. He looked at me with wide eyes and said, "Ok". I have to put my trust in God that everything will be ok. But you never know....

another cute conversation with Carson
I can not find my truck keys.
What the heck?
Mommy, think back to where you last had them.
I think I had them in the truck last.
Yes, Mommy you would need your keys to drive your truck. I think you should look there first because that would be a smart decision.
Mommy, I love babies.
Me too, Carson.
Mommy, can you have another baby from your belly?
silents
Mommy, I will pray for another baby because if you want something you just have to ask God.
With tears...thanks Carson
Mommy, do not cry.
ok, Carson
Mommy, I will ask God for another baby and I will ask him to wipe your tears.
Let's hug it out Mommy.

Mommy, I have an idea. Email care.com and all the kids that do not have a Mom or a Dad will now have a babysitter. On care. com you can buy a babysitter or nanny. I think that would make a great christmas gift.

Its not a perfect world but we will meet one day
Why did we pick the name Rachel? Its from the bible of-course
Love conquers all
Rachel found it hard to conceive and Jacob's other wives, though less loved, were more fertile;
they had ten sons. Rachel bore Joseph but died in childbirth when her second son Benjamin was born. These twelve sons were the forefathers of the Twelve Tribes of Israel.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOMMY!!
On your birthday, I just want to say I love you and I will be your best friend always. I will be your best sidekick. You are the best mommy ever. But most of all, I love mommy best. And there are just tears. I hope you can take me to the park and play. Oh yeah, and I like the way that your house is made and I pray that one day I can get you some flowers. The end.
Love,
Carson (aka Ohmee)

Mama said there'll be days like this,
There'll be days like this Mama said
(Mama said, mama said)
Mama said there'll be days like this,
There'll be days like this my Mama said
(Mama said, mama said)
For those of you who really do not know me, I love song lyrics. When someone talks or writes I try to find different song lyrics to their statements. Anyway, today was a "Mama said there'll be days like this, Mama said" I was in a pure funk, Carson and Cinderella are starting to get colds, Carson had multiple melt downs and Cinderella wanted me to hold her all day. I normally do not mind the melt downs or holding Cinderella all day but today was not the day.
The funk is starting to get the best of me. As I have written about so many times before I dislike when it gets dark before 5:00pm, the trees being bare and layering the clothes on just to feed the horses. So what is my funk called "Seasonal affective disorder" my physician said, "Gret, if you take X you will feel better; you struggle with this every fall/winter." After giving it much thought, I am going to pass again this year on X. Prior to being a Mommy, I used to come home from work, take care of the horses, shower, and was in bed no later than 7pm during the winter months. Now I am forced to stay up and take care of the children. I guess that is not a bad thing since I love being a Mommy. Well, I am going to take me and my funky self to bed :)

sign, sign everywhere a sign
And the sign said long haired freaky people need not apply
So I tucked my hair up under my hat and I went in to ask him why
He said you look like a fine upstanding young man, I think you'll do
So I took off my hat I said imagine that, huh, me working for you
woah!
Sign Sign everywhere a sign
Blocking out the scenery breaking my mind
Do this, don't do that, can't you read the sign
And the sign said anybody caught trespassing would be shot on sight
So I jumped on the fence and yelled at the house, Hey! what gives you the right
To put up a fence to keep me out or to keep mother nature in
If God was here, he'd tell you to your face, man you're some kinda sinner
Sign Sign everywhere a sign
Blocking out the scenery breaking my mind
What do you think: Libya, the stock market, the Middle East and now the Twinkie....
Is that a sign? Think about it. Read your bible-
