She said 'Yes'!!

Jonathan here to end the suspense.

On our last trip to Guatemala, the plan I had in place for months was finally carried out. Following nearly a week of spending precious quality time with some amazing children at Hermano Pedro orphanage in Antiqua, Gret and I strolled over to romantic central park. With its beautiful fountain from which flows a winding path of trees, flowers and shrubs nestled among numerous iron and wood benches, the park is a haven for love struck couples, both young and old, who sit beside one other, lost in their embrace. We cuddled for a while watching passers-by and were especially entertained by 2 young guatemalan girls that laughed, sang, played, and danced as we videotaped their silly antics. As the sun departed and the performers left us, I knew the time was right. Gret sounded perplexed as I fumbled through our bag for the hand-carved wooden frog I had secretely purchased at the local market earlier in the day. The frog doubled as a puzzle which made it perfect for this occasion. I knelt down beside her and said, "Give a kiss, and say yes. Turn this frog into a prince and be my princess." With that I pulled the pieces of the frog apart and hidden inside one of the pieces was a diamond ring. "Will you marry me?", I said. Her eyes wide and with enough of a pause to cause my hands to tremble even more (and make my eyes bug out of my head!!), Gret finally responded and accepted my proposal. We held each other as our tears flowed and our hearts melded together. I have the ultimate honor of knowing I will soon be married to and spend the rest of my life with the most amazing woman, Greta-Jo.
