Two minds think alike

No cell phones, demands, headaches, up tightness, television, running here and there...AHHH
Once again, I am yearning to go back to Guatemala. There is something so special about the country of Guatemala besides the obvious (my sweet little boy). When I am in Guatemala I feel so much peace, love and comfort. Sure, I'm only there for a snap shot however, I thoroughly enjoy every waking minute of it. I love holding the sweet children in Hermano Pedro. As the children nestle into my arms I feel my uptight body relax and my rapid heart rate slow down. There is a peace that comes over me that I can't seem to put into words. Oh- I can not wait for my next trek to Guatemala.

Jonathan, Carson and I were driving home from the mall on Sunday afternoon. Carson said " I do not want to go to home."
Jonathan and I just looked at each other puzzled about Carson's comment. Jonathan replied, "Carson where do you want to go?" Carson said with out a pause "Guatemala."

Winter blues and Chef Carson

For the past two weeks, I've really been suffering from the winter blues and insomnia. Its been very long gloomy, cold, windy, (did I say cold) winter here in Southern New Jersey. The only best part about this time of year is, its starting to stay lighter longer in the evenings which, gives me hope.
On a positive note, yesterday we went to Jonathan's nieces second birthday party in Allentown,Pa,. Carson really enjoyed seeing family and friends however, he thoroughly enjoy cooking.

What should I cook?

I got my ingredients...

I need utensils...

The microwave- my mommies best friend!

Please do not bother me- I am busy cooking,

Seriously

Did I blink too long? I can not believe my sweet baby boy's looks are turning so quickly right before my eyes. Please, time slow down as I want to savor each and every moment with Carson.

Mr. Potato head and Cars

Carson's gifts this year for valentines day were, Mr. Potato head, and the dvd Cars. Carson loves playing with Mr. Potato head. He thinks its very funny putting Mr. Potato eyes on his head and his nose where his ears should go. As for the dvd Cars, its been playing nonstop for three days. However, I do not believe Carson has watched the entire movie as he can not sit still for more than 15 minutes at a time.
I hope everyone had a lovely valentines day.

Gymnastics

Carson started gymnastics for his second season last Saturday. He did not forget a trick- he loves walking/running on the balance beam, hanging off the bars, and most of all rolling around on the mat with his coach.

A little superbowl cuteness

There is one in every crowd.

Did you ever notice when having a conversation with a friend, co-worker, family member, ect about adoptions, something will be said that will sting your feelings. Well, within the last few weeks my feelings have been stung by all of the above. Since the announcement of the upcoming wedding between Jonathan and me I have heard the following comments:
'So when you get married are you going to have one of your own?'
'When are you going to try for a baby or are you going to adopt again?'
'Do you want one of your own?'
'Now you can have one of your own.'

Maybe I'm being over-sensitive to the questions about "having one of my own". I know Carson does not have fair skin, red hair, blue eyes, and I did not give birth to him. However Carson is my own-
