There is another one.

Today we visited a local nursing home with our youth group from church. Carson is usually shy at first however warms up pretty quickly. We spent most of our time visiting with residents who reside on the dementia unit. Most of the residents smiled and talked with Carson (about something). As we were exiting the unit, there was an elderly lady sitting alone in her wheelchair, Carson yells with excitement, "there's another one". Jonathan and I started laughing but quickly composed ourselves as we stopped and conversed with the lady for a few minutes. As we continued walking down the hallway, Carson yells again, "another one".

I am off....

I had been off for the past few days. I am not sure what is going on with me however I have not felt like myself. Have you ever felt like 'something' is wrong but you can not figure out what it is? Well, that's me! I have always been a little on the anxious side about life. I internally worry about 'things' that I have absolutely no control over for example, death, work, sickness, Guatemala adoptions, Carson's future, etc. I know what the Lord says about worrying and anxiety, I try very hard to give it to him however it ALWAYS finds its way back to me... its like a bad dream-

I am the boss!

Carson learns so quickly from the kids at school. On Friday afternoon, I asked Carson to pick up his toys and he replied without hesitation, "You're not the boss, Mommy!" At first, I started laughing and then I thought what the heck did he just say to me? So I responded with a quick, "What did you say Carson?" Once again, he said, "You're not the boss, Mommy." I said, "Carson, Mommy is the boss of Carson." He gave me a half smile and said ok.
Tonight Jonathan was putting Carson to bed as Jonathan walked out of his room Carson yells. "I am the boss!"

Biblical Marriage: On Mission Together
by Rick Warren

"In the same way that You gave me a mission in the world, I give them a mission in the world. I'm consecrating myself for their sakes so they'll be truth-consecrated in their mission" (John 17:18-19 MSG).

Any successful marriage is built upon the biblical truth that God designed each of us with five purposes in mind: worship, fellowship, discipleship, ministry, and missions.

You and your spouse were both made for a mission. Your marriage not only involves ministry, it also involves mission. Your ministry is to believers and your mission is to non-believers—allowing God to use your marriage as a means for telling others about his love.

This may take many forms, from being a witness in your neighborhood to going overseas on mission trips together. The fact is, if you want God's blessing on your marriage, then you must care about what God cares about most.

What is that? He wants His lost children found! He wants everyone to know Him and His purposes for their lives.

Marriage is a life-long process designed to teach you to see the needs of another person as more important than your own. It's a difficult transition because it's not natural. To think this way requires an intentional shift that can be made only through the power of God in your life.

The reward, however, is greater than anything you could ever imagine. God's plan for your marriage is wider and deeper than anything in your wildest, craziest dreams.

Come back Joey!

Yesterday evening a plane flew over the horse farm while Carson and I were feeding the horses. Carson started yelling, Joey, where are going? Come back, Joey! Joey, miss you! I said, Carson where is Joey? He replied, up there driving the plane, I love him. AWWEE- Carson melts my heart!

No more ME-

Since Carson started talking he would always answer his question by saying "me" instead of yes. Example- Carson are you hungry? he would reply, "Me". When people would ask him questions and he would respond in Me, I would inform them, that was his yes. Carson has the cutest little voice so you can just imagine how he sounded. Well, last week I noticed he was saying yes when I asked him a question. At first, I wanted to ignore it however I was forewarned by my parents that he would start to say yes at some point. UH! Not yet! Where is my sweet little boy going? Slow down, I want to savor every moment with him.

We went to the beach yesterday-

\The sun came out yesterday. Needless to say, we took full advantage of the day. As I took a half a day from work. Work has been on the stressful side for the last few weeks. I will save all the details regarding the stress at work, however, please pray for me. Well, I was able to spend three hours at the horse stable riding and grooming the horses before I picked Carson up from school. After school Carson and I met my friend Robin at the beach in Stone Harbor. As we were pulling up to the beach Carson was pleading with me to take his baseball glove and ball on the beach. At first I told him No and then I thought about it. I did not want to discourage him from wanting to play baseball so I changed my No to a Yes rather quickly. Carson played with his bucket and shovel for a few minutes and then it was BASEBALL for one full hour. He had a blast!

bipolar weather

What the heck is going on with the weather in NJ? Last week it was sunny and beautiful this week so far is been rainy, dark and gloomy. UGH! No wonder my attitude has been in the dump. As I have written in previous post, if I was not such a family girl, I would be on my way to Fla. with a moving van today (now Guatemala is a different story ;0)).
Rain, Rain go away, come back another day.

Cute Carson sentences this weekend.

Carson told Jonathan he would be back in 10 minutes he was going to the store to buy boogies.

Carson and I were getting ready to pray and he said stop Mommy, Jesus is busy.

Jonathan told Carson it was time for bed, Carson said in 10 minutes.

We made a wrong turn on Saturday and pulled into someone's driveway, Carson said, does that house have food?

As we were driving home from the store Carson was in the back seat saying, OH YEA, Big man.

Carson was playing catch in the house and he said, he was playing the catchin.

Carson kept saying, I go baseball field, I go barn, I go home, in succession.
