Christmas gift giving struggles

I have been personally struggling with what to get Carson for Christmas. He has so much. We have toys in every room of our home. He does not even play with 90 percent of them. Matter of fact, I do not think he know what he has regarding his toys, books and videos. I know Christmas is not about the amount of gifts under the Christmas tree, its not the amount of money spent, its not what the other kids get however I am still struggling. So what do I do?

I don't know if you read my post recently...I am really struggling with this myself. Four kids x four sets of toys= too much stuff! Yet I don't want to take away from the "magic" of Christmas (Yes, we do believe in Santa at our house :). I think the kids will each get one main gift then some smaller things, and ONLY things I think they will use/play with...

I am with you here too!! But, I am focusing on getting him some more "big boy" things. He is really into Legos and transformers (ACK I have tried to avoid them. He can smell them, I swear!!)I am also focusing on maybe a few bigger things than so much. It is so hard. Right there with you!!!

I also find the HOliday's a great time to clean out!!!!!

Here too! I am having a hard time with the thought of Cristmas too. My kids have too much already that they never play with. I am planning to suggest from family, gift cards to the Zoo, Children's museum or a play of some sort. My kids love those kind of things. They are much more into doing things like that than ever sitting down and playing with toys.
Best of luck to you! Have a great day.

I love the idea of passes to the zoo, movie, and such. We also started sponsoring a student thru Mayan Families and talk about the things we buy for him too instead of buying lots of things for Logan and Ava. The kids enjoy seeing the food/items that we purchase for Salvador and his family.

We are not exchanging gifts this year...and we are not doing *gifts* with our children. We will fill their small stockings and today I sewed lavendar stuffed fleece animals for my kids (got 5 of the 7 done.)

My kids agreed with the adoption coming, that they have everything already...their sister in Ethiopia has so very little.

I really like this way much better. Simple and homey.
