Happy 9th Birthday

Today we celebrated Carson's 9th birthday by building Lego City for six hours, had dinner at Mike's seafood, played in the arcade, walk in the boardwalk and had ice cream at Yum Yum's.  He said, "it was the best birthday ever."

Nine things that I love about you in no particular order:
1. Your loving heart.
2. Your sense of humor.
3. Your love for your siblings.
4. Caring for animals.
5. Your talent in the gym and on the baseball field.
6. Your relationship with the Lord.
7. Your love to sit close and hold my hand when watching a movie or talking.
8. Your spirit.
9. That you are my son.

Better late than never

Well, Carson finished 2nd grade with honors.  He received science, reading, spelling and kingdom builders awards.  Of course we had our daily struggles with: getting the last word in, having a temper when he did not do well on a test or assignment, and MATH good old MATH. Math is a daily struggle with Carson.  He has a complete block when it comes to simple math problems however the harder the math problem the easier it is for him.  Crazy right?! Overall he had a good year.  Praise God!

Pink WHAT?

Thank you classmate for sharing your pink eye with my son.
Your willingness to share your pink eye with my son came with some extra bonuses: fever 102, watery and itchy eyes. Oh. One more thing. A $25.00 co-pay for the doctor's visit plus a $15.00 co-pay for the medication. Please in the future STAY HOME when you are contagious.

Job 35:10-11

But no one asks, "Where is God, my creator, who inspires songs in the night, who teaches us more than he teaches the animals of the earth, who makes us wiser than the birds in the sky?"

shadowing and baseball

Carson shadowed at a new school last week.  I was highly impressed with the cleanliness of the school, professionalism of the staff, student's attitudes and test scores.  The decision to switch private schools is a hard one but combining 3rd and 4th grade in his current school for next year is not favorable to me.  I understand combining classes is normal at some schools however its not in the best interest of Carson. When I spoke with Carson about changing schools next year he said, "My friends are my world.  They will miss me." After a heartfelt conversation he was willing to see the new school.  Fast forward a few weeks- the shadowing happened in the 2nd grade class.  At the end of the day Carson heard the teacher say to the class, "You only have spelling words tonight."  So of course Carson thinks he will only have spelling words for homework if he goes there.  HaHa.
So baseball has started and Carson is doing well this season.  He is playing catcher and short-stop.  Both positions are very active so that works for him.  He is hitting really well.  Its great to see him comfortable in the batters box.

We believe- Newsboy

In this time of desperation
When all we know is doubt and fear
There is only One Foundation
We believe, We believe
In this broken generation
When all is dark, You help us see
There is only One Salvation
We believe, We believe

We believe in God the Father
We believe in Jesus Christ
We believe in the Holy Spirit
And He's given us new life
We believe in the crucifixion
We believe that He conquered death
We believe in the resurrection
And He's comin' back again, we believe

So, let our faith be more than anthems
Greater than the songs we sing
And in our weakness and temptations
We believe, We believe!

We believe in God the Father!
We believe in Jesus Christ!
We believe in the Holy Spirit!
And He's given us new life!
We believe in the crucifixion!
We believe that He conquered death!
We believe in the resurrection!
And He's comin' back again!

Let the lost be found and the dead be raised!
In the here and now, let love invade!
Let the church live loud, our God we'll say
We believe, We believe!
And the gates of hell will not prevail!
For the power of God Has torn the veil!
Now we know Your love will never fail!
We believe, We believe!

We believe in God the Father
We believe in Jesus Christ
We believe in the Holy Spirit
And He's given us new life!
We believe in the crucifixion!
We believe that He conquered death!
We believe in the resurrection!
And He's comin' back,
He's comin' back again!
He's comin' back again!
We believe!
We believe

'No matter how loud the opinions of others are, they cant really force us to be what we are not.
The question should not be,
''Why don't they like me when i am being me?''.......It should be,
''Why am i wasting my time and energy worrying what they think of me?''

My friends, if u are not hurting anyone with your actions, just keep moving forward with your life.
Be happy!
Be yourself!
If others don't like it, let them be.
Life isn't about pleasing everybody'

"Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?" - Jesus
May we worry less and trust more. Simple.

Missing my Kyndel.

Tuesday, March 3, 2015

Sunday afternoon Carson and I went to the movies.  While we were waiting in line to purchase our tickets Carson was reading the movies titles.
Carson: Fifty shades of grey
Me: what?
Carson: I said, Fifty shades of grey.
Me:  what do you know about that movie?
Carson: Nothing.  It must be a boring movie.  Is there really 50 different shades of grey?

Monday, March 2, 2015

'Yes, indeed. <3

Find someone who isn't afraid to admit that they miss you. Someone who knows that you're not perfect, but treats you as if you are...'

Sunday, March 1, 2015

There it sits. The tires are filled with the correct air pressure.  The brakes have been greased.  The pedals have been greased and replaced.  The seat has been cleaned.   It has been waxed and it shines so pretty.  It sits properly in its indoor rack just waiting to be worked. It’s placed in an approatiate spot in my bedroom where I can see the TV and the kid’s bedroom.    What is it…it’s my cycling bike. My bike is waiting for me it’s all tuned up for the upcoming cycling season.  However in the past few days, I have walked by it, looked at it, hung my clothes on it, hit my knee on the tires, wiped it down and the list goes on.  You see, I just have not been in the mood to ride my bike.  I have more excuses as to why I am not in the mood than why I should.  I try not to look at it. But it’s there- It’s there when I wake up, go to bed, and walk into my bedroom.   UGH!   I was having a conversation with the Lord and I sat quietly waiting for Him to reply.  Then I thought my relationship with the Lord is like my bike.  It’s been proven that ½ hour of exercise a day does the body well.  But what does exercise have to do with our relationship with the Lord?  Exercise takes: time, energy, commitment and determination.  Pushing through even when there is sweat, pain, laziness and excuses.  Can you see the correlation between the two?
Anyway, it’s that time of year again as we are planning our annual fundraising events for the upcoming mission trip(s).  Our largest event which brings in people from all around NJ and PA is the bike tour through Cape May County.  The date is scheduled for June 20th.  If you are not a bike rider there are other ways to support this cause.  We have a walk and/or run with different mileage depending on your flavor.  There is also a large yard sale, bake sale and BBQ during the day.  This event grows more and more with your support and word of mouth.    With your support we build homes, sponsor children, feed families, and provide wheelchairs to children and adults and much more.  Please note 100 percent of the proceeds are given domestically as well internationally.
Well, thank you for your attention to this newsletter.  I hope I motivated you in some way to help or at least to exercise your relationship with God.  Remember- He wipes away our sin, He will never leave us or forsake us, He forgives us, and most of all He wants to spend time with us. Our God is an awesome God.

Me: I am not sure maybe I am getting old.
Carson: Mommy you are only 22.

Motherhood is the single most loving, rewarding, terrifying, life-changing, heart-changing, soul-changing experience. It fills you to the point of overflow and drains you at the same time. It is gloriously humbling. It is true love, no matter the way it happens - by way of birth, by way of adoption. My heart breaks for my child. If you're a mom, you know.

Sing, sing a song

Carson started voice lessons on Sunday.  He has an amazing little voice. My eyes were filled with tears when I heard him singing with his voice coach.
